Here's a common scenario:
You're at work and your bored out of your mind. The only thing you can think about is what you'll be doing tonight. No matter what it is that comes to your mind, it has to be better than what your"re doing right now.
Does this feel familiar to you?
Well, if you're reading this while you're at work, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Now.
Every problem has a solution. More specifically, when you take a piece of paper, sit down, and write out your problem on a piece of paper and look it at, you'll notice that the solution is contained in the "problem".
In this particular situation, it might not be so easy to change your job like you go upstairs and change your underwear. My advice in a situation like this is:
Focus on the career that you truly want and decide that you want it more than anything. This something that you can sit down tonight and figure it out. In the meanwhile...
Let's pretend that you really love your job. Let's pretend now that this is the only thing that you can find right now.
Hey.... It happens.
I bet you're dying to learn my simple little process for energizing yourself and staying energized for hours so that not only do you enjoy your job, but you can actually start to appreciate it more and more everyday.
Now.
If you follow this blog, then you know that I talk a lot about the mind/body connection. In case you don't follow this blog now, you should feel really ashamed. All the info here is free. Not only is all this information totally free, but it can be worth thousands of dollars to you, IF you take the time to write out some of the processes I talk about and ask yourself:
How can I apply these techniques at my job?
Now.
The first thing we have to do is neutralize your current crappy state.
Notice what happens when you think back to monday and remember what happened on monday that was really funny. It doesn't matter if nothing happened on monday that was funny. Your mind will automatically find something that you thought was funny.
As you think back and remember everything that happened this week, you'll notice that you may start to smile to yourself. You may even feel the urge to laugh. Its okay to relax and alloiw yourself to do that.
Now.
Your prolly starting to feel much better than you did a moment ago. That's means it's working.
I'm reminded of that scene from the movie "silence of the lambs" where the main antagonist, Wild bill, is forcing his young captive to do as he wishes:
"It puts the lotion on its skin... It does what its told..."
Too funny.
Now.
You've changed your state and you're starting to feel refreshed.
How can we feel even better now?
You can take five deep breaths. Many times throughout your day, you may have noticed that you yawn more and more. You may or may not realize this, but yawning is a message from your body demanding more oxygen.
Now, what do you do when someone demands something from you? Well, if you like the them, you SUPPLY!!!
So you're going to supply yourself with oxygen and consequently...
More energy.
To breath properly and oxygenate your blood and your brain, you're going to:
1) Relax and sit upright. No slouching.
2) Exhale a little bit, pulling in your belly button as you do so.
3) Inhale to the count of four. Your can use your pulse as a timer. So, you can inhale for 4 counts of your pulse.
4) You're going to hold your breath for 4 pulses.
5) Now, your going to release the breath through your mouth for 8 counts/pulses.
6) Repeat as long as you like
7) Each 4-4-8 counts as a complete breath. You can do 10-20 complete breaths to energize yourself.
Now.
These are 2 simple ways that you can energize yourself and feel better and stronger.
How can YOU use these 2 simple techniques in your daily life? I use them EVERYDAY, because they are so simple.
Start using them RIGHT NOW, right after you leave this page, and start to reap the benefits of increased energy.
